Casual Driver definition

Casual Driver. A Driver who does not fall into any of the classifications set forth in subsections 2.1 – 2.5, above. To remain on active status, casual Drivers must contact their assigned terminals each week, as directed by management.

  • Where a YYJ Driver converts to the Victoria Board, that Driver shall advise the Employer whether they intend to become a Part Time or a Casual Driver and shall be subject to all the provisions of Article 9 Seniority, and Article 14, Work Scheduling and Assignment (of work).

  • A Casual Driver will become a 20% Employee if they have worked five (5) days a week for twenty six (26) consecutive weeks unless such work is due to the absence of another employee.

  • A Casual Driver or Casual Utility Cleaner is a part-time employee who is regularly assigned less than twenty-four (24) hours per week and is available to perform additional hours as required.

  • A Casual Driver shall be placed on the Casual Driver seniority list effective date of hire as a Casual Driver.

  • Any reference to "regularly scheduled work day", "regularly scheduled shift" or "normal schedule" or the like in this Agreement takes the above into account and is therefore not applicable to a Casual Driver.

  • A Casual Driver will be defined as a driver who, whenever possible, will be by seniority on a basis, as required, after making themselves available for work but, will not be used when regular or part-time drivers are available and want the work.

  • Where these are relatively equal among applicants, the position shall be offered to the Casual Driver with earliest date of hire with the Company.

  • A Casual Driver wanting to become a regular driver shall go to the bottom of the regular driver seniority list but will keep their years of service for vacation pay.
