C-3 means a domestic communications spacecraft designed to have twenty- four (24) transponders, each of which has no less than sixteen (16) xxxxx of power, and a spare transponder amplifier arrangement of eight (8) for six (6), to be constructed, launched and operated by GE Americom as a successor for its in-orbit satellite commonly referred to as "Satcom IIIR."
C-3 means Note C on octave 3. “F-5” means Note F on octave 5.
