Building trades definition

Building trades means the engagement in the improvement of real property for monetary consideration and encompasses, but is not limited to, the following crafts, trades or businesses, site construction, demolition, earthwork, utilities, paving, plumbing, electrical, masonry, carpentry, general construction, metal fabrication, erection, waterproofing, insulation, roofing, siding, glazing, lathing, plastering, drywalling, tile setting, flooring, painting, decorating, sign building and erecting, and landscaping.
Building trades means the building trade unions, councils and locals, as applicable, listed in Exhibit 1.1(b), or their respective successors, which successors may include such unions, councils or locals as may be reconstituted by its members or another trade union or council of trade unions or locals providing the same or similar services to the Generator.

Examples of Building trades in a sentence

  • Building trades crafts will provide labor for required utility services (i.e. electric, air, water, etc.) or service modifications to the fixture, outside of the tooling base plate, transfer, or tooling structure.

  • SECTION 1: Building trades journeymen sheet metal workers, on the payroll of the Employer on the effective date of this Addendum, shall be accorded wages, fringes and other contractual conditions of employment as established in the local union basic or Standard Form of Union Agreement and as may be amended from time to time.

  • SECTION 2: Building trades apprentices on the payroll of the Employer on the effective date of this Addendum or who may be, subsequently, employed for work under this Addendum, shall be accorded their respective applicable progression schedule with applicable wages, fringes and other contractual conditions as established in the local union basic or Standard Form of Union Agreement through and to their graduation to journeymen.

  • Costs of DeNovo/Secretariat/International dues/Ontario Building trades are included.

  • Building trades and Maintenance Employees shall be provided with the tools of the trade at which they are employed during their period of employment at the workplace.

  • Building trades are not permitted on the passenger elevators and stairwells; all trades will enter and exit the work areas via the designated freight elevator.

  • The food shall be of good quality and have the approval of the Camp Committee (said committee shall be comprised of members from the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America and the Local Building trades Council.

  • Alternatively, an Employer may request that the Coordinating Committee of Registered Employers' Organizations issue a formal written request to the Executive Director of the Alberta Building trades Council that a Subsistence review Committee be established.
