Block Schedule definition

Block Schedule shall be any schedule format with fewer but longer classes than traditional schedules permit.
Block Schedule. The preparation period for high school teachers in the block schedule will occur over a two day period of time. (See Article 13(D)(1)(e)(4)).

Examples of Block Schedule in a sentence

  • All full-time unit members assigned to a 9th - 12th classroom shall have the equivalent of one duty-free preparation period per day allocated over a two week period in a Traditional Schedule, a combination of a Traditional Schedule and an A/B Alternating Block Schedule, and/or an A/B Alternating Block Schedule.

  • High School Teaching Loads (Block Schedule) Block Schedule: The teaching assignments defined below are scheduled over two (2) days (A and B day).

  • For schools implementing a district-approved Block Schedule format, teachers will be provided no less than 250 minutes of preparation time per week, which shall include three uninterrupted 45-minute preparation times, scheduled on different days.

  • In the event that the Modified Block Schedule Committee mutually agrees to a Modified Block Schedule Plan, the negotiating team members of the EFEA and EFSD will reconvene to revisit any conflicting contract language.

  • A period within the Block Schedule will be two periods plus the passing time divided by two.

  • If the A/B Block Schedule is used, then the normal instructional time shall not exceed 275 minutes per day and 3 instructional periods per day.

  • Seven (7) period day - Block Schedule: Prep periods should total a minimum of two (2) periods per day for a five day week, but may vary daily depending on the block schedule.

  • High School Weekly Planning – The Block Schedule will operate only on five (5) day weeks.
