Biochemical genetic tests means tests that evaluate the quantity, structure and/or activity level of a protein/metabolite for the diagnosis of inborn errors of metabolism. These tests enable the evaluation, diagnosis, treatment and monitoring, and carrier testing of inborn errors of metabolism with an underlying genetic basis.
