BEGINNING TEACHERS definition

BEGINNING TEACHERS. (A teacher who has never taught before in any system.) By November 1, the first evaluation should be completed. A second evaluation should be completed by March 1. It is recommended that the School Administrator visit the classes of the beginning teacher (even briefly) several times prior to the deadline, work with the teacher, give suggestions for helping the teacher, etc.; and then give the summary of these impressions on the evaluation sheet followed by a conference with the teacher regarding this formal evaluation. The above minimum does not limit the number of evaluations to be offered a teacher, nor does it preclude any evaluation after the end of the first semester. Evaluation is ongoing and continuous. These guidelines are minimal and establish requirements for formal visitation and evaluation report conferences.
