Beggary definition

Beggary under the BPBA,1959 means “ soliciting or receiving alms, in a public place whether or not under any pretence such as singing, dancing, exposing or exhibiting sore, injury, deformity or diseases, fortune telling, performing or offering any article for sale; entering on any private premises for the purpose of soliciting or receiving alms; having no means of subsistence and wandering, as makes its likely that the person doing so exist for soliciting or receiving alms;

  • Panchayat means an institution (by whatever name called) of self-government constituted under article 243B, for the rural areas;

  • Cottage Sector Means a single dwelling that does not have a common facility for a multiple number of tenants.

  • Toddler means a child at least one year of age but less than 2 years of age.

  • Provost means the Provost and Vice-President, Academic (UBC Vancouver), the Provost and Vice-President, Academic (UBC Okanagan), or both, as appropriate.
