Foundation allowance definition

Foundation allowance means a school district’s foundation allowance as calculated under section 20 of the state school aid act of 1979, MCL 388.1620.

Examples of Foundation allowance in a sentence

  • Note: Foundation allowance is defined throughout this contract as the state appropriated per pupil funding amount upon which the base funding for the school district is calculated using the blended pupil count for each respective year.

  • In the event that the Foundation Allowance in any year of this agreement enacts a zero (0%) increase, or if the Foundation allowance to the district is cut (reduced), both the district and the association will meet to discuss cost-saving measures and solutions to protect employee compensation and the financial health of the district to the fullest extent possible.

  • Once a final Foundation allowance is announced the parties will reconcile the difference.

  • The calculation is as follows: 2008-2009 Retirement Rate Benchmark = 15.87% multiplied by the percentage increase in the State Per Pupil Foundation allowance for South Lyon Community Schools from 2007-2008 to 2008-2009, in excess of $7,259.
