Basic Engine definition

Basic Engine means those units and components of the Engine which are used to induce and convert fuel/air mixture into thrust/power; to transmit power to the fan and accessory drives; to supplement the function of other defined systems external to the Engine; and to control and direct the flow of internal lubrication, plus all essential accessories as supplied by the Engine manufacturer. The nacelle, installed components related to the Aircraft systems, thrust reversers, QEC and the primary flight nozzle are excluded.
Basic Engine means an engine manufacturer’s description of their unique combination of engine displacement, number of cylinders, fuel system, emission control system, and other engine and emission control system characteristics as determined or specified by the Executive Officer.
Basic Engine means a unique combination of manufacturer, engine displacement, number of cylinders, fuel system (as distinguished by number of carburetor barrels or use of fuel injection), catalyst usage, and other engine and emission control system characteristics specified by the Executive Officer.

Basic Engine means, with respect to an Engine, the Engine Manufacturer’s engine modules, components and systems as specified in the Engine Manufacturer’s delivered ▇▇▇▇ of material for that engine model. The “Basic Engine” does not include the nacelle, installed components related to the Aircraft systems, thrust reversers, quick engine components (QEC), primary exhaust nozzle and any other Parts which are not considered by the Engine Manufacturer to be part of a “basic engine”.
