bandit definition
bandit which means an unlawful gang that raid people through arms. It is an act of violent crime by armed gang involving robbery and assault. For Egwu (2016), banditry is classified based on the principal motive of the bandits. In this sense, they identified social versus political or economic banditry, mercenary versus autonomous banditry, organized versus petty banditry. According to this position, social banditry is driven by protest against social unfairness and the need to restructure wealth in society. As the name implies, political banditry has to do with the use of political thugs by politicians based on the need to acquire political position at all cost.
