Backyard dwellers definition

Backyard dwellers means households on council rental stock property within a given area and registered as being backyard dwellers as determined by Council;
Backyard dwellers means persons who live in informal structures and overcrowded conditions within formal developed areas.
Backyard dwellers means a person occupying a backyard residential unit under some type of rental agreement with the main homeowner or City tenant which may or may not include monetary payment for the right to occupy the unit, and may or may not be set out in a formal written agreement. The backyard unit is a structure constructed of any material, intended or used for human habitation, on the same residential property as a main dwelling, built according to approved plans (formal) or no approved plans (informal backyard) and is therefore not categorised as an informal settlement;

  • Junkyard means an establishment or place of business which is maintained, operated or used for storing, keeping, buying or selling junk, or for the maintenance or operation of an automobile graveyard, including garbage dumps and sanitary fills.

  • Single-family dwelling unit means a structure that is usually occupied by just one household or family and for the purposes of this Policy is expected to generate an average of 250 gallons per day of wastewater.

  • Drywell means an unlined or partially lined underground pit (regardless of geometry) into which drainage from roofs, basement floors, water softeners or other non-wastewater sources is discharged and from which the liquid seeps into the surrounding soil.
