Awards Night definition

Awards Night means the annual awards ceremony taking place in the Region in which the outgoing President resides;

  • Open House, Back-To-School Night, Awards Night, Parent Conferences, Project Nights, New Student Orientation, Graduation and Advisory Board Meetings are recognized by both the Union County Vocational-Technical Schools Educational Association and the Union County Vocational-Technical Schools Board of Education as important activities to maintain the vitality and effectiveness of all the UCVTS education programs.

  • Professional events are Back-to-School Night, Senior Awards Night, and Graduation and may take place beyond the “on site” hours described in paragraph 1 above.

  • Department Head attendance at Open House and Senior Awards Night shall be part of the stipend.

  • Teachers are required to work outside the regular workday (7:45 AM -3:20 PM) for parent-teacher conferences and the following, unless they have extenuating circumstances their are approved by their administrator: ● Curriculum Night ● Christmas Music Program Junior High/High School ● 8th Grade Promotion or Junior High Dance (take a turn) ● Awards Night Other events hosted by the school outside of the regular workday are considered to be optional attendance.

  • Therefore, unit members are expected to attend out of school activities, (such as one (1) student orientation, Senior Awards Night and youth organization activities, etc.), that are related to their assignment.

  • Open House, Back-To-School Night, Awards Night, Parent Conferences, Project Nights, New Student Orientation, Graduation and Advisory Board Meetings are recognized by both the Union County Vocational-Technical Schools Educational Association and the Union County Vocational- Technical Schools Board of Education as important activities to maintain the vitality and effectiveness of all the UCVTS education programs.

  • High School Awards Night (9th-12th) Unit members who are required to attend additional evening events, including but not limited to, concert performances, Halloween Carnival, dances, meetings, fundraisers, will be compensated at the hourly rate or per the Special Compensation and Assignments Schedule for the duration of the event.

  • The teachers will not be responsible for any extracurricular activities with the exception of Christmas and Awards Night.

  • In addition to the above minimum time, unit members are responsible for other professional duties which include but are not limited to classroom planning and preparation, professional growth activities, parent conferences, IEP’s, faculty and district meetings, special help to students, Back to School Night, Awards Night, open house, and student supervision as necessary.
