Aversive definition

Aversive means a procedure that is unpleasant to the Participant and results in a reduction of problematic behavior.
Aversive means an intervention that is intended to induce pain or discomfort to a student for the purpose of eliminating or reducing maladaptive behaviors.

Examples of Aversive in a sentence

  • The Participant's right to be free from Seclusion, Chemical Restraint, Mechanical Restraint, and Aversive Conditioning at any time and from Physical Restraint unless required by an emergency.

  • The Contractor shall develop Restrictive Intervention, Restraint, Seclusion, and Aversive Conditioning policies and procedures as specified in this Section.

  • The Contractor shall ensure that its staff and Network Providers do not use Aversive Conditioning for any reason.

  • Aversive equipment such as choke, prong or shock collars will not be used.

  • Cooperative personnel shall advise and assist districts regarding practices for prereferral, referral, evaluation, and identification procedures; Evaluation Report Team procedures; and development of Individualized Education Programs including Positive Behavior Support Plans and Aversive Treatment Plans.

  • Training and orientation include at a minimum: provider training developed by the Department (see Appendix E), CPR, and crisis prevention and intervention including training on Seclusion, Aversive Conditioning, Restrictive Intervention, and Restraint consistent with the requirements in Section 2.2. W.

  • The committee will clarify mandated regulatory issues contained within IDEA including, but not limited to, Aversive Interventions, Child Find, Section 504, FERPA, PPRA, OCR/Transportation, student discipline and related services.
