Autoclaving, definition

Autoclaving, means using a combination of heat, steam, pressure, and time to achieve sterile conditions.
Autoclaving, means a process, which results in the destruction of all forms of microbial life, including highly resistant spores, by the use of an autoclave for a minimum of thirty-five (35) minutes at twenty (20) pounds of pressure (psi) at a temperature of 270 degrees Fahrenheit.

  • Autoclaving microbes (student’s subcultures) upon completion of the Lab exercises.
