Asylee definition

Asylee means any person lawfully present in the United States who possesses an I-94 card issued by the United States Department of Justice, Immigration and Naturalization Service, on which it states "asylum status granted indefinitely pursuant to Section 208 of the Immigration & Nationality Act";
Asylee means an individual who is physically present in the US or at a border or port of entry and who has been granted political asylum by the US Attorney General. An applicant for political asylum does not meet the immigration status requirement for Refugee Assistance until asylum has been granted.
