Assurer definition

Assurer means any company that carries on the business of assuring lives or survivorships;
Assurer means a branch or agency in the United Kingdom of an insurance company to which Part II of the Insurance Companies Act 1982 applies and which is authorised by or under Section 3 or 4 of that Act to carry on ordinary long-term insurance business as defined in that Act and any insurance company as described in Section 659B of the Act.
Assurer means the individual or organisation who meets the eligibility requirements set by the Department of Human Services to be an Assurer, and is willing and financially capable to provide an Assurance of Support for the applicant/s. Depending upon the context in which it is used, “Assurer” may also include an individual who is nominated as the Assurer in an Assurance of Support;
