  • The States of Latin America and the Caribbean participating in ARCAL activities at the time when this Agreement is opened for signature and accession shall maintain their rights and obligations for the period necessary to acquire the status of a State Party.

  • The national coordinator shall act as the focal point for all technical and administrative matters concerning ARCAL in his/her country.

  • The present agreement shall be called "Regional Co-operation Agreement for the Promotion of Nuclear Science and Technology in Latin America and the Caribbean" and shall be identified by the acronym "ARCAL".

  • For each State Party to ARCAL that provides notification after this date, this Agreement shall enter into force on the date of such notification.

  • Each State Party which participates in an ARCAL project undertakes, in accordance with its national juridical system, to apply the safety rules and regulations of the Agency for the duration of the project.

  • The Terms of Reference shall apply without prejudice to (i) ARCAL; (ii) projects relating to the IAEA, its standards and regulations; and (iii) bilateral relations between ARCAL Member States and ARCAL Partners.

  • Project coordinators shall include, in requests for materials and equipment for ARCAL projects, clear and precise equipment specifications and potential supplier details, and shall submit them to the national coordinator for onward transmission to the project PMO at the IAEA.
