Alternative Work Arrangements definition

Alternative Work Arrangements means an employee is approved to work hours other than 8:00 to 5:00, on days other than Monday through Friday, or from a location other than the employee’s regularly assigned place of employment at the University. Alternative work arrangements include flexible work schedules, telecommuting, or a combined arrangement with a flexible schedule and telecommuting.
Alternative Work Arrangements means a work arrangement where an employee works extra hours on regularly scheduled workdays so that they are granted time off work with regular pay. For example, the employee would work 7.8 hours per day and take every other Friday off (based on a regular scheduled 35 hour work week).

Examples of Alternative Work Arrangements in a sentence

  • The Employer and the Union agree that the City’s Alternative Work Arrangements (AWA) Policy is available to members of the Local 1760 ATU Bargaining Unit.

  • Definition: Alternative Work Arrangements are schedules with start and end times that may differ from the regular schedule.

  • The Committee will meet at least once per calendar year to review the continuing implementation of the Alternative Work Arrangements Policy and to suggest modifications.

  • The Parties agree that during the term of this Collective Agreement, a policy will be developed in regards to Alternative Work Arrangements; compressed work week and working from home, specifically.

  • Once the University has completed their guidelines (to be done no later than July 31, 2022), the parties shall meet so that the Union has an opportunity to give feedback to the University on the guidelines document and to discuss the details of the implementation of the Alternative Work Arrangements Program.

  • MBUs with at least one (1) year of continuous bargaining unit service may apply for authorization to work on a remote basis, subject and subordinate to the conditions outlined in the University’s Alternative Work Arrangements Policy (“AWAP”), as it may be amended or curtailed by the University from time-to-time.
