Alternative Construction or “AC” means additional construction or modification of the factory- built structure that directly relates to durability, quality, and safety and that is completed at the site using components shipped with the factory-built structure as reflected in the plans for the structure and approved by the Division of Housing.

  • New construction means, for the purposes of determining insurance rates, structures for which the "start of construction" commenced on or after the effective date of an initial FIRM or after December 31, 1974, whichever is later, and includes any subsequent improvements to such structures.
