ALS Ambulance definition

ALS Ambulance means an ambulance in which Advanced Life Support (ALS) is provided in situations where the patient being transported is in a more critical condition and a paramedic is required to assist in the treatment of the patient before and/or during transport to the emergency facility.
ALS Ambulance means a Monterey County designated emergency vehicle staffed by and equipped to provide ALS at the scene of an emergency and/or during transport of (a) patient(s) experiencing a medical emergency to a hospital.
ALS Ambulance means an advanced life support ambulance staffed with one Georgia licensed paramedic and one other Georgia licensed paramedic or emergency medical technician.

  • ALS Ambulance: A stroke patient that meets Stroke Center Activation Protocol indications shall be transported to a stroke center.

  • Within 18 months following commencement of the term of the Agreement, the Contractor will attain accreditation as an ALS Ambulance Service through the Commission on Accreditation of Ambulance Services (CAAS) or comparable organization.

  • Current written agreements require that contracted ALS Ambulance providers arrive at the scene within 9 minutes and 59 seconds for at least 90% of 9-1-1 responses.

  • No such agreements are currently in place with respect to BLS first response or for other non-contracted ALS Ambulance providers.

  • Within 24 months following commencement of the term of the Agreement, the Contractor will attain accreditation as an ALS Ambulance Service through the Commission on Accreditation of Ambulance Services (CAAS) or comparable organization as approved by the LEMSA.

  • ALS Response Unit: First Response ALS Unit, Ambulance Support Vehicle, or ALS Ambulance per VCEMS Policies 506 and 508.

  • ALS Ambulance: A stroke patient that meets Stroke Center Activation Protocol and thrombolytic inclusion criteria shall be transported to the closest hospital emergency department.

  • Ambulance means a registered road vehicle, boat or aircraft operated by an Ambulance Service Provider and equipped for the transport of persons requiring medical attention.

  • Air ambulance means any aircraft specifically constructed, modified, or equipped and used for the primary purpose of responding to emergency calls and transporting critically ill or injured patients whose medical flight crew has at a minimum two attendants certified or licensed in advanced life support.

  • Ambulatory means the condition of a person who immediately and without aid of another is physically or mentally capable of traveling a normal path to safety, including the ascent and descent of stairs.

  • Ambulance service means an entity, its personnel and equipment including, but not limited to, automobiles, airplanes, boats or helicopters, which are licensed to provide Emergency medical and Ambulance services in the state in which the services are rendered.

  • Ambulance provider means an emergency medical service provider that:

  • Nonambulatory means a person who immediately and without the aid of another is not physically and mentally capable of traveling a normal path to safety, including the ascent and descent of stairs.

  • Nuclear pharmacy means a pharmacy providing radio-pharmaceutical service.

  • Ambulatory surgical center means any public or private State licensed and approved (whenever required by law) establishment with an organized medical staff of Physicians, with permanent facilities that are equipped and operated primarily for the purpose of performing Surgical Procedures, with continuous Physician services and registered professional nursing service whenever a patient is in the facility, and which does not provide service or other accommodations for patients to stay overnight.

  • Massage therapist means a person who practices massage therapy.

  • Ambulance service provider means Latrobe Health Services recognises the following providers for the purposes of paying benefits:

  • Cold Weather Alert means the notice that PJM provides to PJM Members, Transmission Owners, resource owners and operators, customers, and regulators to prepare personnel and facilities for expected extreme cold weather conditions.

  • Ambulatory review means utilization review of health care services performed or provided in an outpatient setting.

  • Ambulatory surgical facility means a facility that:  Is licensed by the state where it is located.  Is equipped and operated mainly to provide for surgeries or obstetrical deliveries.  Allows patients to leave the facility the same day the surgery or delivery occurs.

  • Non-Administrator Ambulatory Surgical Facility means an Ambulatory Surgical Facility which does not meet the definition of an Administrator Ambulatory Surgical Facility.

  • Mental health therapist means the same as that term is defined in Section 58-60-102.

  • Stormwater management planning agency means a public body authorized by legislation to prepare stormwater management plans.

  • Stormwater management planning area means the geographic area for which a stormwater management planning agency is authorized to prepare stormwater management plans, or a specific portion of that area identified in a stormwater management plan prepared by that agency.

  • Centers means the international agricultural and natural resources research centers that are members of the Consortium; and each a “Center”.

  • Substance Abuse Professional (SAP) means a qualified person who evaluates employees who have violated a DOT drug and alcohol regulation and makes recommendations concerning education, treatment, follow-up testing, and aftercare.

  • Sanitation means the promotion of hygiene and the prevention of disease and other consequences of ill health relating to environmental factors ;

  • apron means a defined area intended to accommodate aircraft for purposes of loading or unloading passengers, mail or cargo, fuelling, parking or maintenance;

  • Radiation therapist means a person, other than a Licensed Practitioner or Nuclear Medicine Technologist, who applies radiation to humans for therapeutic purposes under the supervision of a Licensed Practitioner;

  • PIDs shall have the meaning set forth in Exhibit B.

  • SPECIALTY HOSPITAL means a hospital or the specialty unit of a general hospital that is licensed by the state. It must be designed to care for patients with injuries or special illnesses. This includes, but is not limited to, a long-term acute care unit, an acute mental health or acute short-term rehabilitation unit or hospital. Hospital does not mean: • convalescent home; • rest home; • nursing home; • home for the aged; • school and college infirmary; • residential treatment facility; • long-term care facility; • urgent care center or freestanding ambulatory surgical center; • facility providing mainly custodial, educational or rehabilitative care; or • a section of a hospital used for custodial, educational or rehabilitative care, even if accredited by the JCAHO or listed in the AHA directory.

  • Occupational therapist means an individual who is licensed by a state to practice occupational therapy.
