Algebraic difference definition
Algebraic difference means the absolute value of the arithmetic difference between 2 grades in a driveway. For example, a driveway with one grade of +2% and a second grade of -3% would have an algebraic difference of 5%. The algebraic difference provides a numerical guideline for establishing maximum safe grade differentials.
