  • The Secretary-General of the Organization of African Unity, at the request of Parties to the Treaty and in consultation with the Chairman, shall designate the Executive Secretary of the Commission.

  • The Institute shall possess in the territory of each of the Member States of the Organization of African Unity, juridical personality which shall make it independent of the governments of the said States and it shall not be considered as part of any of those governments.

  • Membership of the Organization shall be open to the States members of the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa or the Organization of African Unity.
