Advance practice provider definition

Advance practice provider or “APP” means and includes physician assistants, certified nurse practitioners, psychiatric clinical nurse specialists, and certified nurse midwives. These individuals must maintain compliance with all applicable statutes and regulations and not exceed their scopes of practice.
