By January 31, 2017, the District’s consultant will complete a review and assessment of the District’s courses and programs identified in Action Item I for school years 2013-2014 through 2015-2016.
By May 1, 2017, the System will provide to OCR a copy of the letter(s) required by Action Item I and any written response(s) thereto.
Within 30 calendar days of OCR’s approval of OCR’s approval of the policy described in Action Item I, SECEP will provide to OCR, for OCR’s review and approval, a copy of the training materials it will use, the proposed date for completing training, and the names, titles and professional qualifications of the trainers.

SECEP will augment its existing annual training for all relevant staff who are involved in providing instruction or services to students with disabilities (i.e., principals, assistant principals, education specialists, counselors, behavioral interventionists, special education teachers, paraprofessionals, related service providers, etc.) on the appropriate use of restraint and seclusion with information about the revised policy and procedures developed in accordance with Action Item I.
By October 1, 2020, the District must provide OCR, for its review and approval, information about the training described in Action Item I that includes, but shall not be limited to, the credentials of the individual(s) selected to conduct the training, a proposed plan for the training session (e.g., length of the training session, topics to be considered, etc.), and a description of the training materials to be used by the trainer(s) and/or provided to attendees during the training session.
By April 30, 2018, the District will provide OCR with documentation showing that it completed the evaluation of the Student and determined his eligibility for regular or special education and related aids and services in accordance with Action Item I.
By October 1, 2021, HISD will provide OCR the training materials reflecting the topics described in Action Item I that include, but shall not be limited to, the credentials of the individual(s) selected to conduct the training, a proposed plan for the training session (e.g., length of the training session, topics to be considered, etc.), and a copy of the training materials to be used by the trainer(s) and/or provided to attendees during the training session.
