The department shall submit another Personnel Action Form to stop the Acting Pay at the end of the pay period in which the acting assignment ceases.
The employee’s department shall submit a Personnel Action Form to start the Acting Pay effective the beginning of the first full pay period in which the employee is acting.
Acting Pay shall not be paid to employees performing higher level duties as a result of other employees being absent on ATO for periods of one (1) full day or less.
The amount of Acting Pay will be determined based on the pay grade of the Acting position in accordance with 30.06.

The Acting Pay will be at the rate listed for the first salary step of the higher classification, provided that in no event shall the change result in an increase of less than three percent (3%).
In compliance with the California Public Employees’ Retirement System (CalPERS) regulations and definition of Special Compensation (2 CCR §571), the monetary value of Acting Pay shall be reported to CalPERS as Special Compensation.
