ACEN definition

ACEN means Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing.

  • If a program has new applicant status or is currently seeking accreditation from CCNE, ACEN, CNEA, COA, or ACME then AACN will decide whether or not and at what point that program will be eligible to participate in NursingCAS.

  • Licensure pass rate: Performance on the National Council Licensure Examination for Practical Nurses (NCLEX-PN) for first-time writers (ACEN, 2013).

  • Licensure pass rate: Performance on the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses (NCLEX-RN) for first-time writers (ACEN, 2013).

  • All faculty appointments shall be consistent with institutional and specialized program accreditation standards and guidelines for determining qualified faculty (such as the HLC [Higher Learning Commission] and ACEN [Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing]) as described in Appendix E.
