EXAMINATIONS (SHORT TERM ABSENCE CLAIMS) During negotiations, the parties discussed the possibility of receiving conflicting medical evaluations in relation to claims for Short Term Absence (STA) benefits, where the medical opinion of the employee’s physician is different from the medical opinion reached by the firm responsible for adjudicating STA benefit claims (currently Acclaim Disability Management).
As discussed between the parties, STA benefit claims are now adjudicated by Acclaim Disability Management (“Acclaim”).
