Academic User definition

Academic User means a user of Software: who is employed by, or a student enrolled at, or a scientist legitimately affiliated with an academic, non-profit or government institution; and whose use of the Software is on behalf of and in the interest of such academic, non-profit or government institution and is not on behalf of a commercial entity.
Academic User means each enrolled student, faculty member, or researcher of a degree granting institution that is authorized per the terms, conditions and restrictions herein, to Access and use the Licensed Materials solely for the Permitted Academic Use.
Academic User means a person with a teaching or research role at an academic institution.

  • In order to install and/or activate the Software, certain machine-specific information as well as personal information about Developer (and the Academic User, where relevant) and the systems used by Developer (and the Academic User, where relevant) ("Developer Licensing Information") is sent to BlackBerry at the time of installation and/or activation and/or periodically thereafter.

  • No trademarks or service marks of BlackBerry or its licensors are licensed to Developer (or to any Academic User), and Developer understands and agrees that BlackBerry trademarks or service marks may not be applied to Developer’s (or to any Academic User’s) products, goods or services without the express written permission of BlackBerry.

  • Notwithstanding the foregoing, Confidential Information shall not include information which becomes publicly available without fault of Developer or any Academic User or Administrator.

  • Developer agrees that Developer shall not (and shall not permit any third party including any Academic User or Administrator to): (i) disclose BlackBerry’s Confidential Information to any third party and (ii) use the Confidential Information, except to exercise rights granted to Developer hereunder.

  • Any support or Updates made available by BlackBerry to Developer (or to any Academic User, where relevant) are provided “AS IS” and at BlackBerry’s sole discretion.

  • Neither Developer, nor any Academic User (where relevant) is entitled to any maintenance or support in connection with a Non-Commercial License.

  • Developer acknowledges and agrees that it does not acquire any Intellectual Property Rights in or relating to the Software (including but not limited to any modifications to source code by whomever made or elements of the Software embodied in derivative works created by Developer (or any Academic User) and any translation, modification, or other derivative work).

  • All comments, ideas, changes or other feedback provided by Developer (and any Academic User) to BlackBerry regarding the Software (“Feedback”) shall be owned by BlackBerry and Developer (and each Academic User) agrees to and hereby assign the same to BlackBerry.

  • Developer represents and covenants that: (i) Developer (and each Academic User) is eligible to receive and/or access the Software under applicable law; and (ii) Developer shall ensure that Developer’s (and each Academic User’s) receipt and use of and/or access to the Software is in accordance with the restrictions in this subsection.

  • All comments, ideas, changes or other feedback provided by Developer (and any Academic User) to BlackBerry regarding the Software (“Feedback”) shall be owned by ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ and Developer (and each Academic User) agrees to and hereby assign the same to BlackBerry.


More Definitions of Academic User

Academic User means a Department within a not-for-profit educational institution that (a) has been duly accredited by a widely-recognized accreditation authority as an educational institution organized and operated exclusively for the sole purpose of teaching its matriculating students; and (b) has been accepted by Honeywell, in its sole discretion, for participation in the Academic Program.
Academic User means a User who is a student who is enrolled with the Qualified Institute or a staff member, faculty member, instructor, teacher, director, who is under employment, supervision or direction of the Qualified Institute. Academic Versions of the Software may not be used for commercial or other for-profit purposes. You are not entitled to use an Academic Version of the Software unless Your Users are faculty, staff member or degree, diploma, or certificate-seeking students and You are a Business Customer that is a Qualified Institute. An Academic Version may include work products and other data which may contain certain notices and limitations that make the data unusable outside the educational use area ("Work Product"). If You or any Users combine or link data which You or any of Your Users create with Academic Versions of the Software with any Work Product, then that data may also be affected by these notices and limitations. Fees for a Site License may vary according to jurisdiction and may be chargeable on the basis of different bands of numbers of Academic Users or number of full-time employees of a Qualified Institute.
Academic User means each enrolled student, faculty member, or researcher of ASI that is authorized per the terms, conditions and restrictions herein to Access and use the Licensed Materials solely for the Permitted Academic Use.

  • Academic Unit means an Academic Department, research unit, School, non-departmentalized Faculty, ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ Campus Division, Faculty of Medicine Division, the Fisheries and Marine Institute, the Counselling Centre, or the University Library, to which one (1) or more ASMs have their primary or sole appointment. For Faculty Members at ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ Campus who are not members of a Division, the Academic Unit shall be the ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ Campus.
