academic post definition

academic post means a post in an institution of higher education (other than a post as chief officer) all or part of the duties of the holder of which is to teach any students of the institution or to carry out research;”.
academic post means any of the posts of Vice-Chancellor, Pro-Vice-Chancellor, Dean, Professor, Head of any Constituent Unit designated as an Academic Department by the Ordinance or Regulation establishing it, Librarian of the University, Reader, Associate Professor, Senior Lecturer, Lecturer, Assistant Lecturer and such other posts on the Staff as the Council on the recommendation of the Senate may from time to time determine, and subject to Statute XXII "the Academic Staff" means the holders of such posts. [An exception is that for the purposes of Statute XXII only, the term “academic staff” covers both “academic staff” and “professional staff” (as defined in sub-para (xv) below) - see Statute XXII.3]
