Abuses definition

Abuses means any use of any illegal drug, or use of any drug, including alcohol, over-the-counter or prescription drugs when use is not in conformance with prescription requirements or in circumstances where use is not permitted.
Abuses has the meaning set forth under Section 5.1.

  • Abuse means one or more of the following:

  • Abused means subjected to child abuse.

  • Alcohol means the intoxicating agent in beverage alcohol, ethyl alcohol, or other low molecular weight alcohols including methyl and isopropyl alcohol.

  • Intoxication means a person with an elevated blood alcohol content of a ratio of alcohol in the blood of such person that is eight-hundredths of one per cent or more of alcohol, by weight or such person has sustained such Injury while under the influence of intoxicating liquor or any drug or both.

  • Alcohol Use Disorder means a disease that is characterized by a pattern of pathological use of alcohol with repeated attempts to control its use, and with negative consequences in at least one of the following areas of life: medical, legal, financial, or psycho-social; or

  • Miscarriage means expulsion of the contents of a pregnant uterus at any period prior to or during the twenty-sixth week of pregnancy, but does not include any miscarriage, the causing of which is punishable under the Indian Penal Code;

  • Substance Abuse Professional (SAP) means a qualified person who evaluates employees who have violated a DOT drug and alcohol regulation and makes recommendations concerning education, treatment, follow-up testing, and aftercare.

It is characterized by behaviors that include the following: impaired control over drug use, craving, compulsive use, and continued use despite harm. Physical dependence and tolerance are normal physiological consequences of extended opioid therapy for pain and are not the same as addiction.

  • Violence means the unjustified infliction of physical force by a student with the intent to cause injury to another student or damage to the property of another student.

  • Victims rights agency" means a public agency, or part thereof,

  • Offense means a felony, gross misdemeanor, or crime of moral turpitude.

  • Sexual abuse means actual or threatened physical intrusion of a sexual nature, whether by force or under unequal or coercive conditions.

  • Workplace means a place at which, on an average, twenty or more workers are employed.

  • Firearms means (1) any weapon (including a starter gun) which will or is designed to or may readily be converted to expel a projectile by the action of an explosive; (2) the frame or receiver of any such weapon; (3) any firearm muffler or firearm silencer; or (4) any destructive device. Such term does not include an antique firearm.
