This Amendment to the Participation Agreement (“Agreement”) between DWS Variable Series II (the “Fund”), Deutsche Investment Management Americas Inc. (the “Adviser”), DWS Investment Distributors, Inc. (the “Distributor”), and Farmers New World Life Insurance Company (the “Company”) dated March 10, 2000 is effective this 4th day of February 2013. All Capitalized terms used herein and not otherwise defined shall have the meaning ascribed to such terms in the Agreement.

This Amendment is to the Fund Participation Agreement dated April 20, 2001 (“Agreement”) between FARMERS NEW WORLD LIFE INSURANCE COMPANY, a life insurance company organized under the laws of the State of Washington (“Insurance company”), on behalf of itself and on behalf of the Separate Account, as defined in Paragraph 1.13 of the Agreement, and each Participating Fund (as defined in the Agreement). All capitalized terms used herein and not otherwise defined shall have the meaning ascribed to such term in the Agreement.

(the “Underwriter,” and together with the Trust, “we,” “our,” or “us”), and Farmers New World Life Insurance Company (the “Company,” “you,” or “your”), on your behalf or on behalf of certain Accounts, (individually a “Party”, collectively, the “Parties”) have previously entered into a Participation Agreement dated May 15, 2000, as amended (the “Agreement”).

Franklin Templeton Variable Insurance Products Trust (the “Trust”), Franklin/Templeton Distributors, Inc. (the “Underwriter,” and together with the Trust, “we” or “us”), and Farmers New World Life Insurance Company (the “Company” or “you”), on your behalf or on behalf of certain accounts, have previously entered into a Participation Agreement dated May 15, 2000, as amended (the “Agreement”). The parties now desire to amend the Agreement by this amendment (the “Amendment”). Unless otherwise indicated, the terms defined in the Agreement shall have the same meaning in this Amendment.

This AMENDMENT is made and entered into this 28th day of January 2013 by and between GOLDMAN SACHS VARIABLE INSURANCE TRUST, a statutory trust formed under the laws of Delaware (the “Trust”), GOLDMAN SACHS & CO.; a New York limited partnership (the “Distributor”), and FARMERS NEW WORLD LIFE INSURANCE COMPANY, a Washington life insurance company (the “Company”), on its own behalf and on behalf of each separate account of the Company identified in the {Participation Agreement (as defined below).
