Multi-Agency Public Protection Arrangements (MAPPA)December 1st, 2009
FiledDecember 1st, 2009The purpose of the duty to co-operate is to strengthen the Multi-Agency Public Protection Arrangements. The principal responsibility for protecting the public from sexual and violent offenders rests with the criminal justice agencies. However, the effectiveness of public protection often depends on more than just a criminal justice response and other agencies also play an important role in the management of risk from these offenders; especially in relation to child protection and domestic violence which require multi-agency joint working.
