Peoria Unified School District (District) agrees to implement this Resolution Agreement (Agreement) to resolve the violations identified by the U.S. Department of Education, Office for Civil Rights (OCR), under Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 (Title VI) and its implementing regulation in the above-referenced OCR case. Those violations include that the District failed to take adequate action to address numerous incidents of student-on-student harassment based on race, color, and national origin, and employee-on-student race-based harassment in the 2020-2021 and 2021-2022 school years. As a result, the District permitted the Student and other students at the School to be subjected to a hostile environment based on race, color, and national origin that denied or limited their ability to participate in or benefit from the School’s programs and activities.
