FiledMarch 7th, 2011Duke University and NUS have signed an agreement to mark the second phase of their strategic collaboration in medical education and research, which runs for the next 5 years. The symbolic signing ceremony, held on November 30, 2010, was witnessed bySingapore‟s Health Minister Mr. Khaw Boon Wan and Education Minister Dr. Ng Eng Hen. The Cardiovascular and Metabolic Disorders (CVMD) Signature Research Program at Duke- NUS is playing its part in the fight against cardiovascular disease and its complications, which claim an estimated 17.1 million lives a year. The educational curriculum for medical students at Duke University in the US and at Duke- NUS in Singapore is constantly being reviewed and updated as educators on both sides look for new ways to improve the overall learning experiences of their respective students.
