The Federal Aviation Administration’s activities in support of safely integrating unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) into the largest and most complex airspace system in the world require partnership efforts with a diverse community so that users in the air and people on the ground remain safe. The FAA and the National Association of State Aviation Officials (NASAO), through this initiative, will establish a relationship to work together in the interest of the safety of our aviation system and UAS activities permitted within that system. As UAS policies and activities evolve across the nation, the FAA/NASAO relationship will evolve with them. This agreement provides a framework for cooperation and collaboration between the two organizations. It promotes effective communication in order to advance efforts critical for safety, security, efficiency, and environmental compatibility.
