The present study has two aims: (1) to examine parent-adolescent baseline agreement regarding adolescent past year suicidal ideation and suicide attempts in relation to adolescent self-reported and suicidal ideation at baseline; and (2) to study the extent to which this baseline agreement about adolescents past year suicidal ideation/behavior predicts suicidal ideation, depressive symptoms and the likelihood of suicide attempts 12-month follow-up. A total of 448 adolescents, ages 13 to 17 years, were recruited from two psychiatric hospitals and followed for one year. All analysis controlled for the effect of gender, history of multiple attempts, parents’ history of mental health problems, and other important clinical variables. Results indicated that parents’ awareness of adolescents’ past year suicide attempts was related to significant lower baseline
