We are pleased to acknowledge on behalf of the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (“IBRD”), as trustee (the “Trustee”) of the Global Partnership for Education Fund (MTO No. 069020) (the “Trust Fund”) the intention of the Royal Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (the “Contributor”) to make available, subject to parliamentary appropriations, an amount not exceeding the sum of five hundred fifty million Norwegian Kroner (NOK 550,000,000) as a contribution to the Trust Fund (the “Contribution”) which is the funding instrument of the Global Partnership for Education. Other contributors are also expected to contribute to the Trust Fund on the terms and conditions specified in Annex 1 to this contribution agreement (this “Agreement”).
