This Agreement recognizes the desire of Total E&P Joslyn Ltd. (“Total Joslyn”) as the operator of the Joslyn SAGD Project (including any future projects and or activities on its OSL [oil sands lease]) and the Community of Fort McKay (the “Community” or “Fort McKay”), Fort McKay First Nation and Métis, represented by the Fort McKay Industry Relations Corporation (“IRC”) or their designates, to develop a long- term, co-operative relationship that supports the social, cultural, economic and environmental goals of the Community. This Agreement establishes an understanding between Total Joslyn and the Community on the general approach to responding to and resolving key concerns of the Community and potential opportunities related to the operations of Total Joslyn.
