University of Illinois representatives and City staff have met to discuss ways of addressing the reduced University derived electrical utility tax revenues that the City received from AmerenIP. The University has increased their power generating capacity at its Abbott’s Power Plant and, as a result, has removed the remaining AmerenIP electricity supplied facilities and thus has reduced the utility tax revenue that the City once received. This amounted to approximately $250,000 annually.
