This effort will benefit NASA by improving Additive Manufacturing processes and standards. NASA JSC has a unique responsibility to develop standards and certification plans for Additive Manufacturing for spacecraft. This is a schedule and cost saving technology area that is also being implemented by some International Space Station payload providers, and process improvements arising from this agreement will enhance NASA JSC's ability to provide technical concurrence for some of these payloads. The results of this partnership could lead to a future NASA flight demonstration mission involving the flight and deorbit of a reentry vehicle that contains Additive Manufactured propellant systems, structures, and thermal protection systems.
