Residence Life and no other department or individual. Personal waivers or documents releasing the University from damage, theft, and/or loss cannot and will not be accepted/honored. Failure for a student to sign the waiver not only releases the University from the financial responsibility of personal property theft, loss, an/or damage but also may result in violation of residence hall policy; and in some cases, charges may be assessed to the student for unofficially leaving property in the residence hall without an official residence life waiver. Additionally, the University still strongly encourages the resident to remove valuable personal property when leaving the residence halls during the recess period.
