Operating Principles for the American Society of Enrolled Actuaries (ASEA)September 9th, 2021
Preamble: These Operating Principles are adopted pursuant to section B.2. of the Final Agreement for the Combination of ASPPA and COPA, which is an agreement entered into between the College of Pension Actuaries, NFP (COPA) and the American Society of Pension Professionals and Actuaries (ASPPA), cur- rently d/b/a American Retirement Association (“ARA”)) in September, 2008 and approved by the COPA membership September 23, 2008 (hereinafter referred to as the "“Agreement").”). The Agreement com- bines the operations of COPA into ASPPA, effective September 23, 2008 (the "“Effective Date"),”), as a semi-autonomous operating unit and is included in these revised Principles as Appendix A. References to ASPPA shall be construed to mean ARA when used to reference the Society (as defined in ARA’s by- laws) and ASPPA when used to reference the ASPPA Division of Membership.
