The State of Connecticut and the Connecticut Police and Fire Union (formerly known and Protective Services) have reached an Agreement in resolution of a long-standing grievance. The Agreement provides in relevant part that the State will compensate PSEC/CPFU members who work overtime hours that qualify for weekend differential as specified in Article 36, Section 4 of the NP-5 contract at the overtime hours rate of time and one-half. Core-CT has been apprised of this Agreement and has taken measures to implement a rule, effective 8/28/09 that will generate the payment automatically when there is weekend differential associated with overtime worked on a weekend.
