The 8 August 1963 interagency memorandum of understanding was rescinded by a later agreement between the Secretaries of Transportation and Defense dated 7 May 1981. The 7 May 1981 agreement defined responsibilities of both secretaries and established a five-year review cycle for the document. The 7 May 1981 interagency memorandum was rescinded by a later agreement dated 15 September 1987. The current interagency memorandum of understanding between the Secretaries of Transportation and Defense, dated 10 November 1998, concerns departmental cooperation on the CRAF program and remains in effect indefinitely, unless amended by mutual agreement or terminated.
