Pet (i.e., common household pet) is a domesticated animal, such as a dog, cat, bird, or fish that is traditionally kept in the home for pleasure rather than for commercial purposes. Common household pets do not include reptiles. A pet is not an animal that is used to assist a person with disabilities.
