EUROPEAN AND MEDITERRANEAN MAJOR HAZARDS AGREEMENT (EUR-OPA)March 13th, 2009
On behalf of the Turkish Minister of Public Works and Settlement, Mr. Faruk Nafız ÖZAK, the participants were welcomed by Mr. Atamer SEYMEN, Vice Director of the General Directorate of Disaster Affairs. He emphasized that Turkey is very proud to be a member of the EUR-OPA Agreement and wishes to extend in the future its relations with the Agreement. The Chair of the Committee of Permanent Correspondents, Mr. Bara, congratulated the Turkish authorities for the excellent organization of the workshop held prior to the present Committee meeting on 27-28 October and acknowledged their commitment to disaster risk prevention.
