This Agreement, entered into by the City of Norman, Oklahoma, hereinafter referred to as the City, and Local No. 2875, American Federation of State, County, and Municipal Employees, AFL-CIO, hereinafter referred to as the Union, has as its purpose the promotion of harmonious relationships between the City and the Union, the establishment of an equitable and peaceful procedure for the resolution of differences, the assurance of the well-being of said employees and the efficient and economical operation of the departments in which they are employed, and the establishment of rates of pay, hours worked, and other conditions of employment. This Agreement has been reached through the process collective bargaining with the objective of serving the aforementioned purposes and with the further objective of fostering effective cooperation between the City and its employees.
