The general purpose of this Agreement is, in the mutual interests of the Company and its unlicensed employees, to provide the most reasonable operation of the Company's ships under methods which will further, to the fullest extent possible, the safety and welfare of the said employees and economy of operation. It is recognized by this Agreement to be the duty of the Union, the Company and the employees to co-operate fully, individually and collectively, for the advancement of these conditions.
