Districts implementing FOSS have complete control over how much basic student data is shared and the nature of that data on FOSSweb. There are two ways in which a district can implement student access to FOSSweb: 1)Common Class Credentials:The teacher creates a single login for the entire class - no student data is collected whatsoever. Online assessment is not available. This approach is recommended for Grades K-2 2)Teacher- Created Student Accounts:The teacher adds individual accounts for students. Required fields include First Name,Last Name,Email (not required to be functional), and Password. Names are not required to be proper names (Student A., Student 6543, etc. are all acceptable. Online assessment (grades 3-8) is available. If districts opt not to use individual student accounts and online assessment no student data is collected whatsoever.
