The World Bank Group (WBG) and the European Commission (Commission), on behalf of the European Union, have signed in August 2014 a framework agreement ("FA 2014") describing the mutual Commission-WBG understanding of the forms of financial cooperation between the European Union and the World Bank Group and the principles governing such cooperation. The Commission and the WBG share the understanding that only the subsequent administration agreements will have financial implications and generate legal obligations among the parties.
